St Hilda’s College is delighted to announce that Music at Oxford (MaO) will be relocating to its Jacqueline du Pré Music Building (JdP) from 2 May 2025. This marks an exciting step in strengthening collaborations between Oxford’s leading music organisations and academic institutions.

The move comes at a particularly significant moment for the College, as 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the JdP. The JdP already supports world-class music-making, artistic innovation, and community outreach. However, as part of this milestone year, St Hilda’s College is seeking to raise funds to support and develop the venue further.

By establishing a base at the JdP, Music at Oxford will benefit from its outstanding facilities while contributing to the vibrant musical life of the venue and the wider Oxford community. Looking ahead, MaO will work closely with Professor Martyn Harry, the Artistic Director of the JdP and the JdP team to explore artistic collaborations, both in concert programming and in learning and participation (L&P) initiatives.

“We are thrilled by the possibilities that our new home will offer us: the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building is a wonderful venue with excellent facilities, and we have held many successful concerts there.  Felicity Newby-Smith, our Learning and Participation Manager, and I look forward to discussing collaborative ventures with Professor Martyn Harry and his colleagues at the JdP.  St Hilda’s and MaO share many of the same values: excellence, accessibility, and equality, and all of us at MaO are grateful to the Governing Body of St Hilda’s for welcoming MaO.” Rebecca Dawson, Artistic and Executive Director, Music at Oxford.

“We are delighted to welcome Music at Oxford to the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building as part of our ongoing commitment to fostering musical excellence and collaboration. This move comes at a particularly special time as we celebrate the JdP’s 30th anniversary and look ahead to securing its long-term future. By strengthening partnerships with leading arts organisations such as MaO, we can ensure that the JdP will continue to be a vibrant hub for performance, education, and community engagement for generations to come.” Chris Wood, Bursar, St Hilda’s College.

Music at Oxford has a long history of bringing outstanding performances and learning and participation projects to the city, and this new residency will enable a fresh chapter of artistic exchange, audience development, and educational outreach.
